Free Kick

This was the first time I gave a go at shooting sports. Went to a football (soccer if you’re from the USA) match and at the ticket office I asked for a low and to one of the sides seat.

Took a zillion shots at a speed ranging from 1/640 to 1/1000 second. Lessons learned: a) only in a small subset I got something interesting in frame; b) even at such speeds some degree of blur happened. I used a Nikon 3100 with a 55-200 mm lens (“he who does not have a dog may use a cat to hunt”).

This was a free kick and the ball is off the frame; the players are trying to gain the best position. The reds won 4-0.
